Hi,
This week a friend told me about her one hour of pilates.
She is a new mother, her work is relentless, and since the baby came there has been no time left for herself. She said that is normal, priorities change. Then she told me that the other day she managed one full hour of pilates, start to finish, and how happy it made her.
I told her what I believe. Her first priority should be herself, as her child's mother. Body, mind and soul together, so she can be there as fully and for as long as that child needs her.
She said I was right, and then started explaining why it is not that simple. I stopped her before she could finish.
There is no judgment here, not one bit. That hour was not taken from the baby. It was given to the baby. She is doing great, and when the time comes for more, she will make it. Until then, one hour is how she keeps the thread.
And to her, if she is reading this. I am proud of the mother you are. Mothers are pieces of angels, like every one of us, only a little brighter.
Same time next Friday.
